L'entrée a l'Alhambra; prix et détails

L’Alhambra, à Grenade, est une des monuments plus visités d’Espagne. Chaque année, l’Alhambra reçoit environs 3 millions de visiteurs. Par conséquent, nous vous conseillons de faire votre réservation ou d’acheter vos billets plusieurs mois à l’avance.

Il existe différents types de visites : 
- de jour, 
- de nuit
-  individuelle
-  en groupe
-  pédagogique (pour groupes d’élèves)
-  avec guide, 
-  avec audio-récepteur, 
-  seulement les jardins, Generalife, Partal et Alcazaba.

Se renseigner à l’avance est très important puisque les prix varient beaucoup selon le type de visite, le moyen d’obtenir les entrées, le mode de paiement, etc.

Alhambra

Il existe également plusieurs moyens d’obtenir les entrées :

1. Le jour même,au guichet de l’Alhambra pour voir tout l'Alhambra
Prix adultes 14,00 €
Personnes handicapées 8,00 €
Retraités de la UE 9,00,€
Enfants moins de 12 ans gratuit 
Enfants de 12-15 ans 8,00 €
Jeunes avec carte jeune 9,00  €
Il faut acrediter tout!!! Donc ammenez vos papiers/documents d'identé des enfants etc.

El Partal, Alhambra

Si vous souhaitez seulement visiter les jardins (Généralife, Alcazaba et Partal) le prix est 8,00 €.
• Un maximum 10 entrées par personne.
• Possibilité d’acheter les billets le jour même si vous arrivez avant 08:00 mais les queues peuvent êtres interminables.
• Au guichet, la carte bancaire n’est pas acceptée.
• Les billets achetés au guichet sont UNIQUEMENT valable pour le jour de l’achat.
• Il est recommandable d’obtenir les billets pour l’Alhambra à l’avance.

2      À l’avance, sur internet.
• Les billets pour l’Alhambra peuvent être achetés entre 1 jour et 3 mois à l’avance mais pas le jour même.

• Il est possible de choisir le jour de visite et le nombre d’entrées (jusqu’à 10 par personne) ainsi que l’heure (de 8:30-14:00 ou 14:00-18:00). En choisissant l´heure de visite, l’heure d’entrée aux Palais Nasrides vous est indiquée automatiquement mais il est possible de la changer en cliquant sur « cambiar ». Vous pouvez visiter les autres monuments et finir par les palais Nasrides à l’heure indiquée sur votre ticket.
• Il est possible d’acheter les entrées pour l'Alhamabra sur le suite suivant : http://https://tickets.alhambra-patronato.es/en/*. Ce site prend une commission de 0,85€ / réservation (c’est-à-dire, un prix total est 14,85€ *)

3.      À l’avance, par téléphone à travers de La Caixa.
• Il est possible d’obtenir les entrées pour l’Alhambra par téléphone au (0034) 902 888 001 (Une fois en Espagne) ou au (0034) 934 923 750 (de l’extérieur d’Espagne).
• Les billets pour l’Alhambra peuvent être achetés entre 1 jour et 3 mois à l’avance mais jamais pour le jour même. Il existe une commission :1,40€ par réservation.
• L’heure de visite des Palais Nasrides ne peut pas être choisie sauf si vous le faites par internet.

4. Avec une agence de voyages autorisée: Halcon Viajes.

5.   Il existe une autre possibilité pour se procurer des entrées (lorsque les entrées à travers tickestmaster sont toutes vendues) et c’est à travers un Bon (ou Carte) Touristique (Bono -o Tarjeta- Turístico/a) sur une page especielle de Caja Granada.
Ce bon sont inclut : entrée à l’Alhambra, réductions aux entrées à d’autres monuments, voyager gratuitement dans les bus de la villes et d’autres avantages.
Le prix de ce Bon est de 25-27€ pour 3 jours, et de 30-32,50€ pour 5 jours. Il est valable pour : adultes, enfants, personnes handicapées, retraités, etc.

Ahambra

Important :
Sur le ticket, vous trouvez une heure déterminée pour voir les Palais Nasrides. Il faut bien faire attention au cas où l’heure proposée ne vous convienne pas. Il y a une heure précise car beaucoup de personnes veulent visiter ce palais mais s’agissant d’un espace fermé il faut restreindre le nombre de visiteurs.
Si vous désirez que vos entrées soient rembourséessachez que les entrées vendues ne peuvent pas être remboursées.
Si vous désirez Changer la date,  Ayez en compte que la date pour visiter l’Alhambra et le Généralife ne sont pas changeables.
Si la carte de crédit avec laquelle vous avez acheté les entrées n’a pas été émise en Espagne, vous devrez récupérer les entrées de l’Alhambra aux guichets. Vous devrez présenter la carte de crédit en question avec votre carte d’identité. Faites attention car il existe deux queues, l’une pour les entrées réservées ; l’autre pour acheter les entrées.
Si la carte de crédit a été émise en Espagne, les entrées devront être récupérées aux guichets jaunes de Servicaixa qui sont à l’entrée de L’Alhambra a droite, derrière le petit magasin touristique.
Si vous avez l’intention de visiter l’Alhambra et  / ou Le Généralife en Groupe, sachez qu’il est indispensable de faire une réservation à l’avance.

Game of Thrones in Andalusia

The dramatic karst scenery of El Torcal national park in Andalucia has been chosen as a key filming location for the new NBC fantasy drama series,Emerald City, to be based on L. Frank Baum´s classic novel, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. The locations selected are El Torcal province Malaga, Cabo de Gata National Park near Almeria; the Castillo de Calahorra and Guadix caves north of Granada; and the Alcazar palace in Seville.

The new series is described by NBC Chairman Robert Greenblatt (on entertainment website Collider) as “a modern re-imagining of the L. Frank Baum books…a thrilling, more epic telling of the stories”. “Swept up into the eye of a tornado, 20-year-old Dorothy Gale is transported to another world - a mystical land in great peril, where an all-powerful wizard has forbidden magic and rules over many kingdoms. This is the fabled Land of Oz in a way you've never seen it before, where lethal warriors roam, wicked witches plot in the shadows and a young girl from Kansas becomes a headstrong heroine who holds the fate of their world in her hands”, reads the NBC plot summary.

 

The lead roles of Dorothy and the Wizard will be played by Adria Arjona (True Detective, Person of Interest) and Vincent D’Onofrio (Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Full Metal Jacket, Men in Black, Jurassic World, The Cell), while the series will also star Oliver Jackson-Cohen from TV drama Mr Selfridge. Emerald City will be directed by Tarsem Singh (The Fall, Immortals, The Cell) while the producer is Peter Welter Soler of Malaga-based Fresco Films, who also worked on filming Game of Thrones in Spain.

 

El Torcal and Karst scenery in Andalucia

 

Known for its dramatic landforms including limestone ‘stacks’, El Torcal (see main photo) is one of the most impressive karst landscapes in Europe.  Designated a Parque Natural in 1989, El Torcal's 17 square km are also home to the Spanish Ibex (mountain goat), foxes, Griffon vultures and several species of Eagle; along with 30 species of orchid, Maple, Mediterranean Holm Oak and Hawthorn trees.

El Torcal is located close to the historic town of Antequera north of Malaga, and easily accessible from the A-45 Malaga/Cordoba motorway, near the village of Villanueva de la Concepcion. For those who like hiking, there are three different marked trails (from 1-3 hours) with stunning views and impressive ammonites too; plus there´s a visitor centre and café/restaurant with a nice terrace. Close to El Torcal, the Sierras Subbeticas Natural Park is another beautiful Karst region of Andalucia and remains surprisingly “off the map” for visitors, despite having been designated a Global GeoPark by UNESCO 10 years ago (in 2006) for its exceptional geological heritage.

It is hoped that Emerald City, along with Game of Thrones Series 6 (also just filmed here in Andalucia), will help bring Andalucia´s natural and manmade wonders to an ever-wider audience. Seville has enjoyed a record year in 2015 with a 25% increase in visitors thanks to the “Game of Thrones effect”.

The Alcazar palace and gardens in Seville provided the backdrop for Game of Thrones Season 5, with the palace´s stunning tiled rooms and courtyards featuring in no less than four episodes. And it´s also just been the setting for the forthcoming Series 6, along with Almeria´s Alcazar fortress and the Sierra Alhamilla in the Tabernas desert, where Ridley Scott´s biblical epic Exodus: Gods and Kings was also shot. Other Spanish locations used for filming Season 6 were Girona, Castell de Santa Florentina castle (Barcelona), the semi-desert region of Bardenas Reales (Navarra), Zafra castle (Campillo de Dueñas, Guadalajara) and Peñíscola castle (Castellon).

New documentary about Sherry 'Palo Cortado' Antonio Saura

Are you interested to learn more about the famous golden liquid of Spain called sherry?

Antonio Saura, the son of famous filmmaker Carlos Saura, made this new documentary about the sherry Palo Cortado in 2015. Palo Cortado is a rare type of sherry, chich used to be considered unsuitable for commercial use. It was rediscovered recently and now it is highly prized. It is like a an oloroso with 17-22% alcohol content. The name Palo Cortado means 'cut stick' and refers to a mark made on the barrel, this wine comes out accidentally when the wine loses his layer of yeast.

Biking in Sierra Nevada and the Alpujarras

This year the Vuelta de España, the famous Tour of Spain 21 days biking event ended one day in Capileira.

Froome and company ascended quickly the last part of the 181km from Jaen to Capileira, whereas we mortal people suffer going up all the way from Orgiva at some 450m elevation to Capileira at some 1500m in only 20km.

But anyway, the Alpujarras is an excellent place for biking, either for roadbikes or mountainbikes.

Last saturday we spotted a group of bikers who came from Granada, went up to the Veleta (3372m) passed the Mulhacen (3492m) and then came down to Capileira to pass Lanjaron to get back to Granada.

Free to visit in Granada each saturday

Three monuments can now be visited for free each saturday in Granada. These monuments are: The Bañuelo, Casa del Horno de Oro, and the Palace of Dar al Horra.


The Bañuelo (eleventh century). Carrera del Darro 31

An Arab public bath. It is one of the oldest and best preserved in Spain. It was built in the time of the Taifa Ziri. Opposite the remains of the old bridge of Cadi. Other authors cite it as "bath Palaces" oe "l bath Guadix Gate".

It was called Hammam al-Jawza, it was the bath of the Axares neighborhood (low Albayzin). It has been declared of cultural interest. It was open until the time when Felipe II decided to close it, regarding it as sinful space. Today is accessed through a remodeled Christian home.

Its premises are the changing room, the cold room, the warm room and the hot room. The whole bathroom is covered with star vaults and octagonal skylights to vent and give light. They could be opened and closed to regulate the steam inside.

El Bañuelo

Located in the Albayzín, in the "neighborhood Axares

With the changes that were made in the sixteenth century, the Casa del Horno del Oro, is a good example of Moorish house, where both Islamic as Castilian elements are integrated.

Contrasts the simplicity of its exterior amd the intimate character with the beautiful harmony of its interior architecture. As a hispanic-musulman house, the building is centered by a rectangular courtyard with a pool. In the shorter sides are the rooms. The plaster arch that leads to the south room upstairs is from the original construction. A precious polychrome armor covers this room.

Casa del Horno de Oro

The name "Dar Al-Horra" means "House of the Honest".

This was the last house where the Sultana Aixa, wife of Muley and mother of the last king, Boabdil lived. Outside the perimeter of the Alhambra, Palace of Dar Al-Horra, is the clearest example of Moorish palatial architecture by its structure and decor. It has, like all Andalusian houses, a central courtyard with pool, around this the different rooms are distributed.

The most interesting part is the north gate as its viewpoint allows to see a beautiful view of San Cristobal Hill and the western part of Granada. Plasterwork inscriptions reveal the privacy of this house, "blessing", "happiness", "health is life" and "the blessing continues". This palace, was part of a huge estate with gardens and orchards. Isabel the Catholic gave the garden and farm to found the Convent of Santa Isabel la Real.

New historicTrain in Andalusia: Train Ventas de Zafarraya

A replica on small scale of the train known as El Tren del Llano, which connected formerly Malaga with Ventas de Zafarraya is now operating a a tourist train on a scenic track.

History

In 1905 the ‘Ferrocarriles Suburbanos de Malaga’ train company was established with one main mission - to connect Malaga city to Granada. In 1922 the final 31 kilometre stage, from Vélez-Málaga to Ventas de Zafarraya, which had taken 12 years to complete due to the impossibly steep terrain was completed.

In those days it took nearly 5 hours to arrive from Málaga to Ventas de Zafarraya.

But by 1959 with harsh competition from new roads and efficient bus services the train ceased to operate.

Revival

Now an initiative of the owner of the old hotel 'La Estación' Francisco Moreno and an engineer of Mare, a company dedicated to save moribund but scenic trainroutes from disappearing, has made that you can enjoy now the new Tren el Llano and visit the museum in the cellars of the hotel with memorabilia from the former train and the hotel.

In the bar and pastry shop Gloria you can remember the old times by all the old photos decorating the walls enjoying a coffee or having a drink.
